Caring and quality have been a tradition in this practice for half a century, and I have enjoyed building upon that foundation during my 25 years providing orthodontic care. With a genuine passion for my work, I feel fortunate to share my skills daily. I approach my work as an artisan carefully crafting each unique smile and personally overseeing every critical procedure. Despite having an amazing team of seasoned assistants, I still position each bracket, program each clear aligner case, remove every bracket and aligner attachment, and deliver and adjust every retainer in my practice.
Never satisfied, I constantly work to refine my treatment methods in order to achieve a longer lasting, more attractive result in as short a time as possible.
To begin, I consult with the patient and family so I can understand their objectives and concerns. Knowing my patient’s goals allows me to best explain the pros and cons of the treatment options available so they can make an educated choice. My desire for each patient is to create a lasting smile that gives them confidence and fits harmoniously with their unique face.
To conclude each treatment I perform what I like to call a "dental manicure," in which the edges of the teeth are contoured, and any irregularities (such as chips and normal wear) are refined. It’s always rewarding when patients tell me they can feel how precise these adjustments are, or when they compliment my artistic eye in shaping their smile.
Each patient leaves my practice with a combination of fixed and removable retainers because a beautiful smile requires the tools to maintain it. The lower fixed, or bonded, retainer is a staple of my practice as it prevents misalignment of the teeth, which naturally occurs as the patient ages.
I welcome input from you and your family throughout your care as my patient, and it is important to me that patients feel comfortable asking me whatever questions may arise. It’s always gratifying to see the joy on my patients' faces the day their braces are removed, but my greatest satisfaction comes years later, when they return still delighted and confident in their smile.
A native of South Florida, I have spent my adult life in the northeast since attending Brandeis University. In 1993 I received my DMD with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. My orthodontic residency was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where I received my specialty training in orthodontics and a Masters of Science in Oral Biology. I completed my board exams and achieved diplomate status with the American Board of Orthodontics.
For over 25 years I have been providing orthodontic care in the NYC area. I am an avid reader of the orthodontic and dental literature and attend CE courses regularly. I live in Brooklyn with my wife, Yael, and our daughters, Maya and Ella. We all enjoy travel and hiking in our free time.
